The Presence of Serenity

[author's note: This poem explores a new style of poetry- consisting of general dialogue and parentheticals that try to complement the poem but at the same time, act as misdirects. I heard the song Scarborough Fair/Canticle recently (the version by Simon and Garfunkle) and that motivated me to write this. Check it out here]
(I would also encourage you to check out the file I'm attaching here below which has the poem illustrated (done by me using canva)
I want to go to beautiful plains
Where peace is the only attribute
And bliss dances at the palms of my fingers
Yes, that’s all I want out of life
I’d like to see the overwhelming greenery
(With the happy chirping of a sparrow and a parakeet)
And feel great about everything
(The deer pass oh so merrily)
I’d abandon all the worries
(Beautiful flowers on top of the trees)
And observe the expanse of the valley
(The myriad of hues, serene)
I want to trek the great white mountains
And see what I always heard in the beautiful stories
And feel the breeze caress my face
Yes, that’s all I want out of life
The sight of the snowy peaks divine
(The squirrel hoarding acorns at the speed of light)
Would fill me up with a genuine smile
(The river with cerulean waters dazzlingly sparkles with all its might)
As I see above me the great sight
(Emerald trees greet me left and right)
Of what freedom is supposed to feel like
(The sky is serene and the sun is bright)
I want to see a beautiful meadow
Where my only goal is to feel sublime
And all I can feel is gratitude
Yes that’s all I want out of life.
I want to look at the grass green
(As a beautiful elk gallops with all its might)
In the land where the only insect is the butterfly
(this plane fills me delight)
While I lie on grass facing the azure sky
(The sheep prance around with their cloven hooves)
And even when the rain ends, the rainbow is nigh
(With such elegant fluidity, the lake moves)

[i also have a director's cut version available here, this might ruin the feel of the poem so you have been warned!]
