C'est la vie

before you read: 'c'est la vie' is French for 'that's life'! I picture this poem to one day be a simple song. One day I might find the right notes, chords and rhythms for this, who knows!
Last year,
I laughed
I cried
I failed
My arms flailed helplessly
As i looked at everything miserably
And just as i was on the path to lose all hope
A voice in my head said,
“C’est la vie”
Now,
I scream
I tremble
I cower in fear
I let insignificance dictate me
I let weaknesses define me
Disregarding strengths
I let my bad days dominate my perception of what life can be
It gets so bad that i can’t help but cry
But then my mother whispers in my ear,
“C’est la vie”
Tomorrow,
I will face rejections
More failures
More fallacies
I’ll cry and refuse to be happy
Similar to those like me or before me
I will see no reason to believe in positivity
I’ll be at the lowest point
And all that will bring me back to rationality
Will be someone telling me gently,
“C’est la vie”
